L.J. Enterprises wood jumps are produced from oak, white pine and pressure-treated yellow pine. These materials have traditionally provided versatility, mobility durability and beauty in the horse industry. To prevent warping, all lumber is air stacked or kiln dried.
Bases are pressure treated for stability. Mortise and tenon joints hold the oak crosspieces to the uprights. The wood is primed and painted in either oil-base polyurethane or exterior latex. Four by fours are drilled at three-inch intervals, routed to provide ease in handling and the tops are beveled.
For extra longevity, we use pressure treated bases on most of our solid fillers. All schooling standards are assembled with carriage bolts, and wings are assembled with "U" bolts made and inspected in our own shop. Board planks are made of 2" x 8" x 12' lumber carefully chosen for clarity and reinforced by 3/8" rod at each hanger for support.
The dimensions of our jumps have been chosen carefully so that they not only conform to USEF standards but also are solid, practical and stable.
Our unassembled "Express" kits are constructed of the same high-quality materials, milled to the same precise standards and covered by the same guarantee as our fully assembled and finished show jumps. Each piece of L.J. Enterprise jump equipment is carefully inspected before leaving our shop to ensure your complete satisfaction.
